I didn’t sold single mother concept - Nilmini Tennakoon

Nilmini Tennakoon is a talented actress. Also a woman who recently faced life alone with her daughter and won life. Although veterans have fewer creations, Nilmini is still not like that because she is ingrained in the hearts of many.

I did several designs. There is a problem that those creations cannot be shown. Now they create from their own channels, so they create with their own artists. With that situation, it is not possible to show the works of many veteran artists. I've also spent more time on the film side lately.

Art cannot be done as a work in Sri Lanka. There is no background to doing art on a professional level in Sri Lanka. So I run the business professionally. Now big injustices are happening to our artists. Many of today's creations cannot be brought close to the creations we have been involved with in the past. Many designs are indexed. Some good creations emerge. Nowadays, actors and actresses are emerging like mushrooms. Singers perform.

Now my daughter is studying online for her medical degree. I'm happy about my daughter. Due to the corona condition, I was home with my daughter most of the time. I need to earn enough to teach her and pay for those things and to achieve my things as an artist. We have to work for it. I do my best for my daughter's education. I make my daughter without bothering anyone. My mom is even more proud of me for the way I raised my daughter. I lost my dad when we were little. My mother raised three children alone. She never married again. Because there were three girls. My mother is an example to me. I tried to be an exemplary mother to my daughter. Everything I did as a mother was enough for my child to know the four walls of my home and my family.

The daughter is going overseas for her training. But still could not cope with the situation. Everything is delivered on time. One day the daughter goes overseas. I love acting so much. I can not live without acting. Even if I go overseas, it will be a journey to come and go. I'm not going to leave art.

From a young age, I watched my mother raise us on her own. I did not want to sell and eat what I call a single mother. We can make money for a child or for ourselves without doing anything wrong. I went to talk to some moms begging with their kids. Many of them do not hold their children. A woman is very strong. She can do a craft. When we give birth to a child in this world, we must fulfill our responsibilities to them. There are single moms as well as dads in our country. I'm a popular character so if anyone asks me about my child I should tell them about it. But if we pretend, that's where the problem lies. I see no problem in remarrying a divorced person. What is needed is not to pretend.

People in my country love me. No one ever looked down on me. It's worth living for me with pride. Because of our popular characters, we can not do everything we want. Many are waiting to follow our example. I'm really scared to hear a word from anyone. But no one can knock me down. I'm ashamed when someone says something to me. So I tried to make sure my life is not like that. Even my daughter respects me a lot. So I am for my daughter. I'm grateful for the little thing my daughter did. We do not live forever. Meanwhile, we must live without hating anyone and without being jealous. Even Corona taught us a great lesson. I'm a human too. We have our faults. I always try to fix when there are mistakes and live with the help of someone.

We are criticized by some who do not even know if we are black or white. I will not be shaken by anything. I am loved by many who have very loving and beautiful hearts. There were those who were hostile to the Buddha as well as Jesus Christ. But those who were hostile later regretted it.
