 Cannabis plant is considered in local Ayurveda as Tri Loka Vijaya Patram.  It grew as a fertile plant in the river valleys of the Altai Mountains of China 12,000 years ago.  Cannabis is said to have been a major crop at the beginning of world agriculture.  This is one of the five major crops in China.  Hemp is one of the three major crops in India.

 Accordingly, it is time for the government to take a correct decision regarding cannabis.  Ayurvedic doctors should be given the opportunity to use cannabis to get rid of these misconceptions and treat patients as medicines.  In order to have the true medicinal value, a period must be created in the court premises where the decayed cannabis powder, which has been around for a long time, is no longer available.  Even Britain, which banned cannabis in our country, has legalized it and still banned it on Sri Lankan culture.  Western countries can sell cannabis products to our country in the future.  Before that, it would be good if those responsible for cultivating cannabis in our country as a drug would pay attention.
